It is 10pm on Friday July 13th. SharkCon 2018 starts at 9:45am tomorrow. I have less than 12 hours.
So, uh, everything's perfectly all right. We're fine. We're all fine here, thank you. How are you? *shoots comm panel with Stormtrooper blaster* Boring conversation anyway, Luke we're gonna have company! But really, I arrived at the Florida State Fairgrounds at 10am this morning, unloaded and got my booth mostly set up and was done by 11:30am. I then had to go into work to pull a full shift, until 10:30pm tonight, before having the weekend off to work the con. But, I work with rhinos, so it's not so bad a thing. I have to mention my mom is in town and helped me set up the booth and is right now at my house, ironing headbands and getting the finishing touches ready for tomorrow. I could not have done this without her and have to express my gratitude. I'm excited and nervous as this is my first time as a vendor with a physical booth. Before now I have just sold painted rocks on Etsy, but I have been building up my fabric stash with fabulous fabrics I couldn't walk away from at JoAnn Fabrics and other quilt shops. I spent the first few months of the year testing patters for different bags and crafts. I was able to eliminate a few that definitely wouldn't work for me and a few that just took too long to make. I, happily, work a full time job as a zoo keeper in Tampa, with rhinos - they're awesome- so my time is limited and even sewing the zipper pouches, key fobs and headbands takes time. That's why, after SharkCon 2018, I plan on doing drops of themed items on my Etsy store. Mermaid fabrics in May, Octopus fabric in October, Halloween in September (but really, it's never to early to celebrate Halloween.) I can focus on one set of fabrics at a time and it will be a bit more manageable. Thank you for reading and coming along on my adventures. If you're in Tampa, I hope I'll see you at SharkCon this weekend, July 14th & 15th. I'm at booth #2! Sincerely, -MudWallowJive
